Tara Davis-Woodhall recently shared a picture of herself with Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. This comes just a few days after the conclusion of the Paris Olympics where both athletes won gold in their respective disciplines.

Davis-Woodhall competed in her second edition of the Olympics in the French capital and met Nadeem in the media room during the quadrennial event.

The 25-year-old took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the picture of the two, stating that she was "fangirling".

"I was fangirling in the media room," Davis-Woodhall's caption read.

Arshad Nadeem scripted history at the Paris Olympics as he won the javelin throw, clearing a distance of 92.97m, thus scripting a new Olympic record. The 27-year-old surpassed the previous record, set by Andreas Thorkildsen, by 2.4 meters. India's Neeraj Chopra finished second with 89.45m while Grenada's Anderson finished third with a throw of 88.54m.

Arshad Nadeem's triumph is Pakistan's very first individual gold at the Olympics, and their first medal in the quadrennial event of any sort since 1992.

Tara Davis-Woodhall appeared in her second edition of the Olympics in Paris, and clinched the gold in the long jump event after jumping a distance of 7.10m.

She was also the only long jumper in the event finals who cleared the seven-meter mark. Defending champion Malaika Mihambo from Germany finished second in the finals with a mark of 6.98m while United States of America's Jasmine Moore clinched the bronze medal position with a mark of 6.96m.

This performance by the 25-year-old was a remarkable turnaround when compared to her performance in Tokyo when she finished in the sixth position in the event finals after registering a mark of 6.84m.

She was also the group leader during the preliminary qualifying stage where she finished above the 2020 Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist, Ese Brume after clearing a distance of 6.90m.

Apart from her exploits at the Paris Olympics, Tara Davis-Woodhall has won every long jump event she has competed in so far this year. These include a gold medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow and top spot at the USATF New York City Grand Prix.

The American's season-best in long jump so far this season is 7.18m, which she cleared at the USA Indoor Championships.
