Cecile Landi has bid goodbye to the World Champions Center and is poised to start her journey as co-head coach of University of Georgia. That has elicited emotional reactions from several gymnasts and families, including Joscelyn Roberson and Jordan Chiles' mother Gina Chiles.

Landi joined the WCC in 2017 and has coached multiple elite gymnasts. She was one of the reasons behind the US team's success at the Paris Olympics.

The US women's gymnastics team won gold in the all-around event with a score of 171.296. A few days after the end of the team's Olympic campaign, Landi has announced her farewell from the WCC.

Simone Biles opens up on the importance of Cecile Landi in her life

Simone Biles recently opened up about the importance of her coaches, Laurent Landi and Cecile Landi, in her adult life. She expressed that they have helped her a lot in the gym and out of the gym too.

“They’ve been big mentors in like my adulthood, they got to see and harness the more mature Simone. They’ve helped me a lot not just in the gym but out of the gym, too,” Biles said.

In the same interview, Cecile Landi exuded pride in training a gymnast like Biles, and also opened up about her achievements as a coach.

"I think I’ve done everything I could do in elite, and beyond what I could ever have imagined as a little French girl in a little town," said Cecile Landi. "I’ve coached the greatest of all time. I’ve coached many kids. I’ve had many great athletes in NCAA and elite that I feel like I want to try what’s next, a new challenge."

Landi was a gymnast who represented France at the 1996 Olympic Games. She started her career in the sport at the tender age of five.
