Following his close victory over the YouTuber IShowSpeed, Noah Lyles sidestepped his re-race challenge and invited the streamer to face him at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in July in a 100m showdown. The two recently raced in a 50m sprint with $100,000 on the line.
It all started during a live stream that IShowSpeed was doing to reach 33 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. In the middle of the stream, he got a call from fellow YouTube sensation Mr. Beast, who appeared alongside Lyles and a container filled with $100,000. Upon seeing Lyles, the streamer immediately challenged him to a race, saying:
"Noah, Noah, race me! I need to prove to the world that I am the fastest man alive, bro. And I need to race you! Me and you need to race."
In response, Lyles accepted the challenge asking:
"When do you want to lose, man? I am where I always am, I'm in Florida."
Following their banter, the duo faced each other in a 50m dash in Orlando, Florida, where Noah Lyles clinched the win. On the other hand, IShowSpeed impressed fans with his incredible athletic skills, making it a close finish. However after the race, the YouTuber challenged the reigning Olympic champion for another shot but he declined it.
"You don't want to race again; you don't want to race again. It's just 50 meters; it's literally 50 meters. Why can't you race again?" Speed asked.
"Why can't you win the first time?" Lyles asked.
"Because I did not stretch my G," Speed replied.
"I can listen to your excuses all day, but my fiancee is at home, and I got 100,000 dollars to count just to make sure it's all here. I'd love to chat, but it was good; it was fun. You had fun right, alright, next time, July right, US Nationals, Eugene, Oregon, I'll see you there, right... I can't wait for July," Lyles concluded.
The 2025 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set to be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from July 31 to August 3.
When Noah Lyles threw shade at Tyreek Hill after being challenged by the Miami Dolphins wide receiver for a race
Tyreek Hill challenged Noah Lyles for a race and mocked him for his third-place finish in the 200m final at the Paris Olympics. Hill claimed he could Lyles in a race if he faced him on the track, saying:
"Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him. You know what I'm saying? Then he want to come out and pretend like he's sick. I feel like that's like horseradish. Like come on, bro, just speak on what you know about, you know what I'm saying? And that's track. I would beat Noah Lyles. No, I wouldn't beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles," Hill said.
In response to his claims, the sprinter said:
"Ummm, what's that guy, what's the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can't remember his name. Mark! What's the football player who thinks he's fast name? Tyreek Hill."
The 27-year-old American standout, who is the reigning World and Olympic champion in the 100m event, is enjoying his downtime after wrapping up the 2024 season.
