Legendary athlete Carl Lewis slammed Team USA for not qualifying in the men's 4x100m relay finals at the World U20 Championships in Peru. He recalled how Team USA was disqualified in the men's 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics as the team crossed the baton exchange zone during the transfer leading to the disappointment.

Brayden Wiliams, James Bauman, Braylon Thompson, and Cordial Vann were the USA's men's 4x100m relay team members at the World U20 Championships 2024 in Peru. The team competed in heat 2 of the men's 4x100m relay and failed to complete the first baton handoff as the second runner had already crossed the exchange zone.

Ultimately, the team did not finish the race and failed to qualify for the finals leading to great disappointment among fans and critics. Carl Lewis took to X to express his disappointment with team USA's performance in the 4x100m relays over the past two events.

He compared this to how the senior men's team was disqualified in the finals of the Paris Olympics in the 4x100m relay and expressed his disappointment at how the team had not been able to complete the race in two major events.

"I've been watching the @WorldAthletics U20 Championships in Peru. We will not be in the men's 4x100 final. I guess we've accepted the fact that @usatf teams can not finish a relay race. It is so sad that these young junior athletes also have to suffer from their incompetence," he wrote.
