American alpine ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin opened up about the challenges she faces in her career. This comes just a few days before her home race in Killington on Saturday, November 30, where she aims to conquer the 100-World Cup win mark.

This would be another feather in the cap of her already illustrious career, which includes three Olympic and seven World Championship gold medals. Despite her incredible success, Shiffrin has faced her fair share of challenges throughout her career.

In the recently launched trailer of season 3 of the "Moving Right Along' YouTube series, Shiffrin says she feels like an 'imposter' at times, despite the fact that she has achieved loads of success in her skiing career. She also shared her struggles with expressing her emotions and passions outside of skiing. She said:

"I struggle often with a feeling like I am an imposter which I think is why this question of legacy is so loaded. I find it hard to verbalize exactly all the things I love to do beyond the slopes and all the things that I am already doing. "

In the trailer, Mikaela Shiffrin's head coach, Karin Harjo pointed out that these struggles of the skier help aspiring skiers connect with Shiffrin in a more natural manner.

Shiffrin launched the YouTube series, 'Moving Right Along' two years ago, in 2022. This series delves into various chapters of her life, allowing her to share her story on her own terms, independent of media narratives and perspectives.

Mikaela Shiffrin revealed her thoughts during her 99th World Cup-winning race in Austria. This marked the American skier's second win in her third Alpine World Cup race of the 2024-25 season.

In an interview after her victory, Shiffrin revealed that she was 'nervous' during the race and initially doubted her chances of winning due to the enthusiastic cheering of the other teams. She said (via FIS-ski.com):

"I was really nervous on the top. I could hear all the women going down and their teams were cheering and that always means they had a really good run. And it was getting darker and I was like ‘sh*t, I don’t think it’s happening today."

During the interview, Mikaela Shiffrin also shed light on the possibility of winning her 100th World Cup race in Vermont. She remarked that it will take a lot of effort from her to achieve this feat.
