Alica Schmidt updated her fans about nearing the conclusion of her first training camp of the season before she competes in the 2025 track events. Schmidt traveled to Paris as part of the mixed 4x400m relay squad, representing Germany.
Following her Olympic stint, the German sprinter vacationed in Italy, Thailand, and Maldives, engaging in fun activities like jet skiing and running a marathon for a charity event, among others. Shortly after, she posted an update of her return to training with the 2025 in foresight.

After celebrating her birthday with her close ones on November 8, the German announced that she would begin high-altitude training with an international 800m group.
"Back in 2022, I decided that I wanted to give the 800m a shot after the Paris Olympics, so now it means… I’m going for it next year 👀 I‘m on my way to my first high altitude training camp where I’ll join an international 800m group to train alongside great athletes where I can learn a lot. I‘m super excited for this new challenge and what it will bring," Schmidt said.
Almost nearing the end of her first training camp in South Africa, she took to her Instagram post to express gratitude for the insightful sessions.
"First training camp of the season is almost completed. It was a really good camp and made some good progression, now I’m only 4 more days in South Africa - but I‘ll be back soon," she captioned.
Schmidt clinched the silver in the 4x400m relay event at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships and won the bronze podium at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships.

Schmidt traveled to the Tokyo Olympics as a relay member but didn't compete in the finals. She entered the Olympic gates for the second time in 2024 but failed to make a podium finish despite competing in the heats.
After the Games, she took to her Instagram post to share how the Olympics was not just about winning medals but taking inspiration from global athletes competing on the same stage.
"The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from."
Alica Schmidt also expressed her wish to inspire young athletes, saying:
"I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve. I love taking you guys with me on this journey and hope to inspire young athletes and show how amazing this sport can be!"
