Ariarne Titmus will take a different approach to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to implement the lessons learned since her exit from the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Titmus will again don the Australian jersey, competing in her second Olympic Games.

The two-time Olympic champion noted that there have been a lot of lessons learned from the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games to date. Ariarne Titmus insisted that she is now a different person and going into the Games, she will be out to implement what she has been learning all through.

Speaking to the Australian Broadcasting Company (ABC) at the Dolphins' L'odyssee Aquatic Complex, she added that she is now mentally strong and able to take on hurdles differently.

Ariarne Titmus is aware that things will be different at the Paris Olympics since crowds will be there to cheer them on, something she is very excited about. During the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, there were no spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I definitely think as an athlete I have grown a lot in three years and as a person I've grown more. I think mentally I've got so many learnings from the last Olympic Games," Titmus told ABC Sport.
"I know this is going to be different with big crowds, which I'm very excited for. But I think as an athlete, all together as a whole, I'm in a better position than three years ago," she added.

At the Tokyo Olympic Games, Ariarne Titmus clinched gold medals in the 200m and 400m freestyle categories. She also claimed a silver medal in the 800m freestyle before being an integral part of the 4x200m freestyle team that claimed a bronze medal.

Going to Paris, Titmus noted that there would be no hurdles since the Tokyo Olympics were difficult since they were to be extra careful in everything they did, something that affected her focus.

"COVID definitely made it harder to focus on the task at hand because there was so much external crap we had to worry about. Not having to worry about that is a nice reprieve," she said.
