Masai Russell announced she will be hosting a Christmas party as the holiday season has set in. The American athlete recently bought a new house and gave a glimpse of the same.
Russell had a successful run during the 2024 season; she delivered stellar performances in the US Olympic trials and the Paris Olympics. In the trials, she ran a personal best of 12.25s in the 100m hurdles dash to stand atop the podium, and in the Olympics finals, she clocked a time of 12.33s by besting the French athlete Cryrena Samba-Mayela and the defending champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and clinched the gold medal.
Following this, she also competed in the Athlos NYC meet, where she again competed in the 100m hurdles and attained third place with a score of 12.44s. After this, the athlete enjoyed her off-season, during which she bought a new house and shared updates about the same. Days after this, she shared a post on her Instagram, where she shared a video of settling into her new house and gearing up for hosting Christmas.
Masai Russell opened up about what it took to set up the house and compared it to a workout. From cleaning to setting up her drawers to setting up mirrors, she showed it all in the video.
"So, if y'all didn't know, your girl purchased a house, so come with me. I have already done a couple of videos, but this one really took me out. I am not gonna lie, this is definitely a workout, but we dedicate our whole entire Sunday just moving me into this house and getting everything new, getting everything unpacked," Masai Russell said.
She added:
"The holiday is here, and Christmas is around the corner, and I tell you guys that I am hosting Christmas. Yes, I just freakin' moved in, and I am hosting Christmas. Am I sick? Am I ok, man? I don't know. And this is a brand new house, but I did decide to clean it just because it's super brand new and it still has dust particles. We definitely got in the house at 12pm and this needs four days of work."
