Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone once reminisced about how her now-husband, Andre Levrone, used a business meeting as an excuse to meet the star athlete during the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, Sydney and Andre exchanged vows at the Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison in May 2022.
McLaughlin-Levrone shared how her relationship with Andre Levrone began as a friendship as he expressed his desire to get to know her before moving forward. In an October 2023 episode of ‘The It Girls’ on YouTube, she recalled how, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Andre mentioned that he would be coming to Los Angeles for a business meeting and hoped to see her while he was in town. She said (starting at 34:07):
“Yeah, we talked like just as friends I think for maybe two months before we really started dating because he made it intentional. He was like I want to be your friend first. I want to know you. During that time, this was still COVID-19 [2020] like September, October, November. He's like, 'yeah I have to come to LA for a business meeting so maybe I'll see you.'”
Sydney immediately realized Andre was using the business trip as an excuse for their first date since many workplaces were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and most people were working remotely. She further mentioned:
“I'm like, 'during COVID-19 bro, there's no business meetings happening.'”
The couple went on to get engaged after Andre proposed to Sydney at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale in August 2021. Less than a year later, Sydney and Andre tied the knot and their relationship has been going strong to this day.
