Nebraska Cornhuskers women's volleyball captain Merritt Beason shed light on her role as a capatin in the team. This comes just after she and her team won their second straight Big Ten Championships title on Saturday.
The Cornhuskers ended their conference campaign with 19 wins and a defeat from 20 matches. Their only loss came two days ago on Friday (Nov 29) against Penn State in an away match. However, the Huskers came back with a convincing 3-1 victory in their last conference match against Maryland to be crowned joint Big Ten Champions with Penn State.

"It's just been so special and it's a special thing to be a captain here at Nebraska and the girls select us to be that. So for me, it's just an honor to be a captain and to be leading all these girls."
She further added:
"I might not be perfect all the time but I just try to be the best for them day in and day out and maybe it's not through stats but I just try to find a way that I can give to my team in each and every match and every practice."
Merritt Beason played a crucial part in the match against Maryland where she secured 19 kills while second captain Lexi Rodriguez helped the team with 14 assists during this away clash.
