Tara Davis-Woodhall recounts a hilarious incident during the Paris Olympics

Olympic champion long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall recently shared glimpses from her fantastic stint at the Paris Olympics. The 25-year-old also recounted a hilarious incident that happened with her during the quadrennial event in Paris.

Woodhall uploaded a series of photographs on Instagram, with the caption,

"My camera roll - these are some bts of competition day at the Olympics"

In one of the photographs, Woodhall posted a selfie from the taxi en route to the finals. An inquisitive user asked if it was true that she was almost on her way to the finals, to which the long jumper cheekily replied,

"Bro I need to do a story time on this! He did get lost"

Woodhall further uploaded the comment on her Instagram story with another caption,

"Yall, I need to do a story time about my taxi ride on my way before my Olympic final"

Tara Davis-Woodhall competed in the long jump finals for the second time since the Tokyo Olympics, where she missed out on a podium finish. Despite stiff competition from the defending champion Malaika Mihambo of Germany, Woodhall won a historic gold medal, with a best attempt of 7.10m. Mihambo had to settle for the silver medal.

Tara Davis-Woodhall also talked about her reunion with longtime coach Travis Geopfert at the Kansas State University. The American long jumper joined the university on the recommendation of Geopfert.

Expressing her delight on the occasion, Woodhall wrote on her Instagram story :

"The duo is back"

Woodhall knew Geopfert from the time when was the Assistant track and field coach at Kansas State University. When he came back as the Director of Track and field/ Cross Country, he called for Woodhall, who readily turned up with her husband and Paralympic champion sprinter Hunter Woodhall.

In an interview, Woodhall explained why she took up the offer. She mentioned,

“When he told us he was coming to K-State, we were already packing our bags and looking for a place to live. He’s our person. Not only is he a really good coach, but he’s a really good human being." (via Yahoo Sports).

Tara Davis-Woodhall was offered the post before the Paris Olympics. However, she did not take up the job as the assistant coach until the quadrennial event at Paris ended.
