Lindsey Vonn pens a heartfelt note for Thanksgiving as she prepares to make a professional comeback five years after her retirement in 2019. The American Alpine skier expressed that she had no regrets and urged her fans to enjoy every day of their lives with their loved ones.
Vonn stunned the skiing world earlier this month when she announced that she would be joining the US Ski Team. She aims to make a professional comeback in the Alpine Skiing season this year. The decision came as the former World Cup Champion was undergoing rehabilitation after a partial knee replacement surgery earlier this year.
As she prepared to return to the slopes, Lindsey Vonn took to Instagram to share her thoughts on Thanksgiving. The American Alpine skier expressed that she was grateful for being able to get relieved of her knee pain as well as get back to skiing. Furthermore, she thanked her friends and family for their constant support and encouragement.
"So much to be thankful for this year! I’m thankful for my family, friends and team for supporting me and believing in me. I’m thankful for my health, to not be in pain every day and to be able to ski fast again. (Thank you Dr. Roche and Dr Hackett!)," she wrote.
"But mostly, I’m thankful for the opportunity. Every day is a chance to live my life to the fullest. All of the early mornings and late nights, all of the hard work and all of the fun; I don’t take anything for granted. I have promised myself and my Mom 😇 to never waste a second. I have NO regrets, and I am grateful for that!" she added.
Lindsey Vonn experiences a full circle moment as she returns to the US Ski Team
Lindsey Vonn experienced a full-circle moment as she joined the US Ski Team during their training session. She revealed how she had met Allison Mollin and Bella Chanel Wright when they were young, and now they are a part of the US Ski Team.
Vonn compared it to how she met Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street when she was 9 years old and got the opportunity to compete on the same team alongside her when she was 16.
"Full circle moments seem to be happening a lot lately! I met Allison and Bella when they were just young girls, and now we are all on the US Ski Team together! I remember when I met Picabo at 9 years old and then was on the team with her when I was 16," she wrote.
Furthermore, she urged her fans and followers to dream big and work hard towards their goals.
