Simone Biles said that she doesn't design the customized outfits she wears at her husband Jonathan Owens ' NFL games. The American gymnast has leveled up her fashion game this season and has been spotted in different styles in a nod to Owens.
Biles has regularly attended Chicago Bears' games following the conclusion of her Gold Over America Tour as she lives with Owens in the same city. The seven-time Olympic champion has been pictured on the sidelines with Owens in customized clothing, ranging from a varsity jacket with Owens printed on the back to his jersey number 36 printed on her goggles.
However, the 27-year-old said she plays no part in planning her outfits and instead gets them designed by creators. She said she offers just one piece of advice, 'surprise her'.
"Honestly, I reach out to some of the creators that make the apparel, and I have no ideas. I let them kind of freeball it, and I say, 'Surprise me.' And then that's how I piece them together," she told Olympics.com in an interview.
The 27-year-old also claimed that none of the previous outfits she wore were her favorite, adding that she will wear her favorite one during Thursday's game between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks.
"My favorite one so far is one that I haven't worn yet, and I'm wearing it to Thursday's game," Simone Biles said.
Biles collaborated with Kristin Juszczyk, who’s married to San Francisco 49ers star Kyle Juszczyk, to design a custom puffer vest for her in 2023 when Owens played for the Green Bay Packers. Juszczyk has also designed outfits for Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes among many other big stars.
"That's just his superstition" - Simone Biles on Jonathan Owens' pre-game ritual of meeting her on the sidelines
While Simone Biles used to be occasionally present at Jonathan Owens' NFL games following their wedding in April 2023, she has attended the Chicago Bears safety's every game following the end of the GOAT tour and has made him habitual of a kiss on the sidelines before the game.
Speaking in the aforementioned interview about Owens' pre-game ritual, Biles claimed it had now become a superstition for him to receive good luck before the game.
"I know it means so much to him for me to be able to go and support his games. For him, it means a lot for me to go on the sideline before because he says that's his pre-game routine. So he's always looking for me on the sideline to give him, like, good luck vibes and wishes. That's just his superstition," she said.
The couple met via the online dating app Raya in 2020 and it was Biles who had made the first move by DM'ing him. They got engaged in 2022 before tying the knot on two separate occasions in April and May 2023.
