"I cannot show myself to him"- Carlos Yulo's girlfriend makes heartbreaking confession about her relationship with father after parents' separation

Carlos Yulo's girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, who is a model and content creator, spoke about her relationship with her father since her parents got separated when she was just four years old. Yulo concluded his Paris Olympics campaign with two gold medals.

The 24-year-old won his first gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the men's floor exercise, where he earned a score of 15.000, besting Artem Dolgopyat and Jake Jarman, who claimed second and third place, respectively. He earned his second gold in the men's vault, with a score of 15.116, besting Artur Davtyan and Harry Hepworth.

Weeks after this, the gymnast's girlfriend, San Jose, appeared on the podcast 'Toni Talks on October 6, where she opened up about her relationship with her father and revealed her lifestyle after her parents got separated while she was a young girl.

"I grew up with my uncles, aunties, and cousins. And then I only experienced having a mother figure when I moved in Australia. Like being with her 24/7 in the same house. My mom started a new family. She, got remarried, so, my sister and I moved in with them," said Carlos Yulo's girlfriend. (2:19 onwards)

She further explained about what happened in her childhood and revealed that she cannot show herself to her father.

"I think I was 2 or 4 years old when they (her parents) separated. Super early stage of my childhood. He's (her dad) here in the Philippines but we have the typical setup where I cannot show myself to him. That's why I didn't grow up with my dad."

Carlos Yulo revealed his mother's dislike for his girlfriend Chloe San Jose

In a conversation with The Manila Times, Carlos Yulo opened up about his mother, Angelica Yulo, whom he accused of robbing him, and her dislike for his girlfriend Chloe San Jose. The gymnast's mother claimed that her son's girlfriend was the cause of their spat, and to this, Yulo took a stand for his girlfriend and said that his mother did not like San Jose from the very beginning, even though she hadn't met her in person (as quoted by Hindustan Times).

"She said our misunderstanding started because of Chloe. That’s true. Ever since the beginning, she didn’t like Chloe, even though she hadn’t met or seen her in person. Our relationship worsened when I started setting boundaries. I stood up for Chloe because I like her,” Carlos Yulo said.

He further revealed that his mother judged Chloe because of her dressing sense, and he also spoke about his girlfriend's upbringing.

"First of all, Chloe has her own income. Everything you see her using and all her travels come from her hard work. My mother judged Chloe right away because of how she dressed and acted. Chloe and I grew up in different environments. Chloe grew up in Australia, and that’s the culture she knows. It’s very different from how we move, talk, and dress in the Philippines.”

The Filipino gymnast, Carlos Yulo, received several prizes and benefits from his country's government after his successful Paris Olympics campaign. He received a fully furnished two-bedroom condo and more than 13 million pesos in cash. Along with this, the 24-year-old also got a lifetime of free ramen, free buffets, and free meals.
