Olivia Dunne recalled doing elite gymnastics with Simone Biles during her younger days, calling the latter the most talented gymnast in history. Dunne was in attendance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she watched the US women's gymnastics team achieve success.
Dunne made her elite debut at the 2014 American Classic and continued her momentum at the 2015 American Classic. She then qualified for the National Championships that year. She competed at the US Classic in 2017 before marking her senior elite debut in 2018. That year, she participated in the US Classic and Championships. However, injuries plagued her 2019 season.
Though the 22-year-old began her NCAA career with Louisiana State University in the 2020-21 season, she remains a strong supporter of her elite gymnastics teammates, both in person and on social media. Dunne attended the 2024 Paris Olympics and cheered on the legendary Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles.
On October 26, 2024, the NCAA Championship gold medalist recalled the time she did elite gymnastics with the 30-time World medalist and how dominant of a gymnast the latter has always been.
"I used to do elite with her, and she just has always been so dominant.I don’t know if there’s ever going to be anyone who has nearly the amount of talent as Simone Biles," Dunne shared with Fox News Digital.
She also noted how Biles blew her mind with the heights she reached with her leaps.
“Watching her in person is such a treat. To see what she does and how high she can go in person, it’s really an honor to watch her. That’s the best way to describe it," Dunne added.
Dunne also extended her support to Jordan Chiles, who forfeited her Olympic bronze medal after a controversy with the Romanian Gymnastics Federation.
Olivia Dunne believed that Simone Biles was out for revenge at the 2024 Paris Games
At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Biles encountered a significant mental challenge known as the "twisties," which forced her to withdraw from the competition. She persevered and returned to the Olympic stage in 2024, earning the love and admiration of fans and fellow athletes, including Olivia Dunne
"Simone has always been a GOAT, and I think that this is like her revenge tour. What happened in 2020 was a freak thing, and I think that she's out for revenge and she's gonna probably win," Dunne said in anticipation of Biles' Olympic performance when she graced the red carpet. (July 16, 2024)
Biles went on to win three gold medals in the team competition, all-around, and vault, and a silver medal in the floor exercise. On October 25, the 27-year-old's eponymous docuseries was released on Netflix.
