Simone Biles recently reacted to the love she has received from her fans on her Netflix sports docuseries, 'Simone Biles Rising', which was released on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. The documentary has delivered an in-depth look into the adversities navigated by the gymnast and her victorious comeback.
The 27-year-old is often regarded as the greatest gymnast of all time. However, the trials and tribulations she faced during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were a major setback for her. In episode 1 of the series, she opened up about the struggles she faced during the vault final that forced her to pull out of the rest of the events.
This docuseries, directed by Katie Walsh, has received a lot of acclaim from fans, and the gymnast reacted to it in a post on X (formerly Twitter). She said that she might have cried 2-3 times after watching the reactions and was grateful for all the love she has received.
"#simonebilesrising, so thankful for all the love & support being shown so far! I appreciate y'all XOXO," Biles said.
Overwhelmed with the reactions, she added:
"I may have cried 2 or 3x while watching it."
In another tweet, the gymnast wrote:
"I truly am grateful to have such an amazing & strong support system. I see your tweets & insta tags! THANK YOU to all who follow, watch & support. I'm incredibly grateful! ILY'ALL"
Simone Biles is in sublime form going into the Paris Olympics. From winning the Xfinity US Championships, to qualifying for the Olympic Games, she has aced it all.
Simone Biles won the Best Comeback Performance of the Year Award at ESPY 2024
Simone Biles was recently awarded the Best Comeback Performance at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles. She has been forced to deal with several major ups and downs over the course of her career, especially during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, when she faced a mental block called 'Twisties,' and was forced to pull out of the events.
However, after her setback, Biles made a notable comeback during the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp. There, she won four gold medals and one silver medal, increasing her overall Olympic and World Championships medal tally to 37.
The ESPY Awards 2024 isn't the only time when her comeback was noted; she was recognized for the same at the Laureus Sports earlier this year, as she also won the Laureus World Comeback of the Year Award.
Simone Biles was proud of her efforts and her comeback in 2023, and said:
"It still proves to myself and other people that I can do it, so I'm proud of the work that I've put in to get to this point, and it's just exciting that I just keep going up each and every year, so I'm excited for what's to come."
The 27-year-old gymnast will compete next at the Paris Olympics after an exceptional display at the US Olympic trials, where she claimed the highest points total of 117.225.
