Jordan Chiles recently exuded excitement about her fandom for the American star, Beyonce, expressing her love for the singer. The gymnast is currently a part of the Gold Over America Tour, which was launched by Simone Biles in 2021 to celebrate the gymnastics who competed at the Olympics.
Chiles recently concluded her Paris Olympic journey, where she won one gold medal in the team's all-around final. The team, which included Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, scored a total of 171.296 points, besting Italy and Brazil, who registered 165.494 and 164.497 points, respectively.
Along with this, the 23-year-old was also part of a controversy during the 2024 Summer Games, where she was stripped off her bronze medal, which she won in the floor exercise.
Following this roller-coaster journey, Chiles is now a part of the Gold Over America Tour. She recently appeared in an interview alongside Biles with Entertainment Tonight, where she opened up about her love for the American star, Beyonce. When asked if the gymnast would want to star in a Beyonce video or do the Olympics, she revealed her clear choice to star in the singer's video.
"I think it was like some Tik Tok they asked me or something like that they were like would you rather be starred in a Beyonce movie or do something with the Olympics," said Jordan Chiles. "I was like you can give me that Beyonce video real quick, I've done the Olympic twice, give me that Beyonce video real quick." [0:22 onwards]
Jordan Chiles opened up about the reason behind her Beyonce-inspired slogan
Jordan Chiles started her 2024 season with a new slogan, "I'm that girl', which was inspired by one of Beyonce's songs. She revealed that this song inspired her a lot after she visited the star's show in Houston. She kept that slogan as her motto to gear up for the Paris Olympics.
"I’m that girl actually came from a Beyoncé song. I recently went to her show that she had in Houston and I just went to watch the documentary," Jordan Chiles said during an interview with Aly Raisman on Olympics.com. "It just inspired me a lot, because you know, a lot of people take for granted on who Beyoncé really is."
Lauding Beyonce for her talent, the gymnast added:
"For her, her childhood was crazy, and she became this childhood star, like she became Beyoncé at such a young age. I think, you know, I feel like that’s how it is with a lot of athletes, their name gets into the light so quickly that they don’t know how to contain or do anything with themselves until they get older."
The gymnast added that she considered the slogan as an affirmation.
Jordan Chiles is currently performing at the Gold Over America Tour and will next be seen performing on April 25 in Denver.
