Mikaela Shiffrin spoke about breaking records and inching towards the 100th World Cup title of her career in an interview with the Eurosport. The American athlete revealed how dealing with expectations creates a sense of pressure and also distracts her while performing.

“When I keep my mindset focused on skiing well, on implementing the tools, tactics, and fundamentals that I’ve been working on in training—that’s when my competition is at its highest level. There have been years where I’ve been more aware of expectations, maybe even a little distracted by them," she said.
“I remember being so focused on that number, and then realizing that it was making me more nervous. I thought, ‘This is silly. Why should this make me more nervous?''" she added.

Further, she revealed how her team's constant support and encouragement throughout the preparation process has played a pivotal role in keeping her motivated through tough times.
