Ilona Maher gives four word reaction on being named in Bristol Bears' roster for potential debut against Gloucester-Hartpury

American union rugby player Ilona Maher recently expressed her feelings as she was named to the Bristol Bears roster for the first time joining the club. She hasn't featured in a professional rugby match since her Olympic campaign in Paris.

Maher will be a substitute for the Bears' match against Gloucester-Hartpury on Sunday (Dec 5). Several other players such as Jess Sprague, Simi Pan, Delaney Burns, and Meg Varley will accompany Maher on the bench.

Maher took to her Instagram stories to share a photo of the roster and gave a four-word reaction.

"See you all Sunday"

Gloucester-Hartpury is currently higher than the Bristol Bears in the league table. The team is in third place of the PWR standings with seven wins from 10 matches. Notably, Gloucester-Hartpury's last defeat in the league was against the Bears back in November, when Maher's side won by a margin of 19-14.

As per reports for the match on Sunday, approximately 8000 tickets have been bought by the spectators which will make this contest one of the most attended women's matches in the league.

Bristol Bears player Millie David recently expressed her thoughts on her newest teammate, Ilona Maher. This comes ahead of Maher's possible debut in the PWR on Sunday.

In an interview, David stated that playing with Maher will be an exciting opportunity for her and her teammates. She further spoke about Maher's strong personality and mentioned that this is something that she is looking to add in the arsenal. She said (via The PWR.com):

"It is really cool to have Ilona come in, it is such a unique opportunity that we have. She is great and she is so funny, but also I’m excited to play with her. She is such a strong and powerful runner. For me, my main skillset is my speed but if I can learn some of her physicality and power and I can add it to my game too, then it will just help me even more."

Similar to Ilona Maher, David is also in the squad for the game against Gloucester-Hartpury and will grace the starting lineup of Bristol Bears as its utility back.
