Ilona Maher garnered global attention for her take on body positivity, fun skits on social media, and embracing feminity despite association with a masculine sport. However, after her bronze medal-winning moment at the Paris Games, she introduced her sister Olivia Maher as her 'everything' and the inventor of 'Girl Dinner'.
"She’s right over there, girl dinner inventor. Come here, come say hi for a minute. This is the inventor of Girl Dinner. She’s my manager, my boss, my everything. She does it all," she told People.
Maher participated in the 33rd season of the Dancing With the Stars. She was partnered with professional dancer Alan Bersten, who helped the Olympian finish runners-up. Her sister, father, and rugby sevens teammates supported her during her 'Dedication Night' performance.
"Little different than watching rugby games but I could do anything and these beautiful people would still cheer for me," she wrote expressing gratitude.
The rugby player signed with the PWR team Bristol Bears to play on a three-month contract to secure a spot on the 2025 Rugby World Cup roster.
