Stephen Nedoroscik recently gave cartwheel lessons to fellow American athlete Ilona Maher on the Dancing With the Stars rehearsal stage. Both athletes, who are celebrity participants at DWTS, are fresh off their respective bronze-winning feats at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ilona Maher, the US women's national rugby sevens athlete, participated in her second Olympic edition in Paris, where her team defeated Australia in the finals 14-12. The 28-year-old contributed to the win, promoted body positivity, and advocated for the feminity of women athletes associated with masculine sports.
Meanwhile, Stephen Nedoroscik won the bronze medal in the pommel horse, becoming the fourth US athlete to medal in the event since World War II. He won hearts for his calm demeanor and his viral posture, where his head was tilted back and eyes closed before taking the gymnastics mat. The 25-year-old also contributed to the monumental bronze win of the US men's gymnastics team.
Maher and Nedoroscik are currently on their Dancing With the Stars run, where the former is paired with Alan Buren, and the latter is partnered with Rylee Arnold.
After a couple of successful episodes, Nedoroscik shared an off-stage frame with Maher, giving cartwheel lessons to the rugby player. Though the 28-year-old couldn't perform a clean cartwheel, she didn't give up attempting.
The moment was shared by the Dancing With the Stars Instagram account on Monday, October 7.
Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars streams on Disney+, ABC, Hulu and other streaming platforms. It has recorded 4.97 million viewers across ABC and Disney+. The average rating on premiere night surpassed the rating of the first episode of Season 32.
Nedoroscik, dubbed "the pommel horse guy," is one of the show's headliners, usually staying on top of the leaderboard. Maher, on the other hand, has amassed 39 points out of 60 based on her first week's performance.
