Ilona Maher turns heads in a two-piece amid preparation for Rugby World Cup

Ilona Maher grabbed a lot of attention with her recent update in a two-piece attire. The rugby player is currently gearing up for the Rugby World Cup.

The American came under the spotlight after her performance at the Paris Olympics, where she and her team won a bronze medal in the third-place showdown against Australia. The American team bested the opponent with a score of 14-12 and clinched the first-ever Olympic medal for the USA in this sport.

Following this, she participated in Dancing With the Stars and ended up in second place with her partner Alan Bersten. Currently, she is preparing for the rugby world cup, and amid this, she has turned heads with her recent update on Instagram, showcasing her stunning attire. Maher posed in a yellow-colored two-piece in a sauna and added the caption:

"Sweating it out."

The rugby player was also supposed to be a part of the DWTS tour, which commenced on January 7 and will be executed in 68 cities. However, she skipped the opportunity and used the time to focus on her sport.

In an interview with Parade magazine, Ilona Maher revealed the reason behind missing the DWTS tour and also expressed her feelings about the same. Opening up about her wish to spend time with Alan and her passion for rugby, on the other hand, she said:

I would love to do more, but it was important for me to go back to my passion of rugby. With the World Cup coming up next year, I wanted to prepare myself for that. And though I would love to have been [on tour] spending every day with Alan again, I need to also focus on what really brings me joy and what I think will move me forward and move the sport forward,” Ilona Maher said.

Maher delivered stunning performances at DWTS alongside her partner, Bersten, and was praised for various performances, such as the one where she picked her partner up on her shoulders during the Disney week. Apart from the show, the athlete has commenced her rugby season and recently got injured in her team, the Bristol Bears', match against the Leicester Tigers on January 18, 2025.

She collided with three players at Ashton Gate Stadium and had to leave the game early with an injured nose. Ilona Maher also shared posts about the injury on her Instagram handle.
