The Paris Olympics gold medalists Simone Biles and Imane Khelif are among the most searched athletes of 2024. The list published by Google names the two Olympians among the top 10 most searched athletes and people globally alongside big names like Donald Trump and Mike Tyson.

However, the boxing legend was beaten by Khelif as the most searched athlete in the world following her dramatic campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also placed fourth among the most searched people in the world, only behind Donald Trump, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Kamala Harris.

The Algerian female boxer remained a hot topic throughout the Games for allegedly having failed a gender test in 2023. Khelif competed in the women's 66 kg category at the Olympics and went on an undefeated run to win the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Simone Biles was the fourth-most searched athlete of 2024. She was also among the most searched persons in the world, placing ninth in the list dominated largely by politicians and controversial people.

The 27-year-old won four medals at the Paris Olympics to become the most decorated American Olympic gymnast in history. She won gold medals in the team, all-around, and vault competitions before settling for silver behind Rebeca Andrade in the floor exercise finals.

Simone Biles endured her toughest fight to date in the all-around finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, narrowly beating long-time rival Rebeca Andrade. Following the finals, the American claimed she was stressed and got uncomfortable watching Andrade close in on her.

"I don't want to compete with Rebeca no more. I'm tired. She's way too close. I've never had an athlete that close, so it definitely put me on my toes and it brought out the best athlete in myself. So I'm excited and proud to compete with her... but I'm getting uncomfortable guys. I don't like that feeling – I was STRESSED," she said (via Gymnastics Now).

The eleven-time Olympic medalist also hinted at retirement, adding she was now going to let the Brazilian win the rest of the all-around competitions.

"It's good. I'm gonna hand it to her now – she can have the rest," Simone Biles added.

While she hasn't announced her retirement yet and hasn't ruled out an appearance at the 2025 World Championships as well, the greatest gymnast of all time is approaching the twilight of her illustrious career.
