In Pictures: British swimming icon Adam Peaty announces engagement with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter following Paris Olympics 2024

British Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty took a major step in his personal life as he recently announced his engagement with Holly Anna Ramsay, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The couple confirmed their relationship in June of last year.

Six-time Olympic medalist Peaty and Holly Ramsay met through her younger sister Tilly Ramsay during her time on Strictly Come Dancing, the UK adaptation of Dancing with the Stars, where Peaty was also a contestant. The couple confirmed their romance through an Instagram post in June 2023 and even dedicated each other with matching tattoos of "A" and "H."

Adam Peaty announced the engagement shortly after his third successive Olympic campaign in Paris. The 29-year-old secured a silver in his marquee 100m breaststroke event with a time of 59.05 seconds, just 0.02 seconds shy of winning his third consecutive Olympic gold. Furthermore, Peaty was also part of the Great Britain team that finished fourth in the men's 4x100m medley relay, clocking in 3:29.60.

Announcing the engagement, Adam Peaty posted pictures with Holly on Thursday, September 12, and expressed his gratitude for helping him navigate during a challenging time in his life.

"I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace. You have been with me when I’ve been at my lowest and helped me understand myself to navigate my own darkness," he wrote.

After winning silver at the Paris Olympics, it was later confirmed that Adam Peaty had tested positive for COVID-19, which left his plans of competing in the 4x100m medley relay in jeopardy. Following that, the British swimming phenom took to his Instagram and shared a gratitude post, giving a special mention to his partner Holly Ramsay.

"Thank you to Holly Ramsay who has been the best partner anyone could have in all of this. It’s never easy to undertake the challenges of living with a professional athlete with the emotional and physical toll it takes on us," he wrote.

Holly Ramsey was also present in the French capital to support Adam Peaty during his performances at the Quadrennial Games.
