Elaine Thompson-Herah flaunted her new hairstyle. The Jamaican athlete concluded her 2024 season after competing at the USATF New York City Grand Prix.
2024 did not pan out as expected for Thompson-Herah, as she only competed in two events, including the Prefontaine Classic and the USATF New York City Grand Prix, and attained a ninth-place finish in both of them. She sustained an Achilles injury at the NYC Grand Prix, which eventually led to her withdrawal from the Jamaican trials and, automatically, the Paris Olympics, where she was to defend her 100m and 200m titles.
The 32-year-old is currently in her off-season and during this time, the Jamaican athlete flaunted her new hairstyle as she shared pictures on her Instagram story. Elaine Thompson-Herah recently opened up about her plans to compete after recovering from her injuries in an interview with Pulse Sports Kenya. She called herself 'greatness' and said that she believes in herself and knows that she will make a stronger comeback, leaving a 'legacy' for the upcoming future of the track and field community.
"I know my capabilities and once I overcome my injuries and obstacles I know I will do great things because I am greatness, and I’m history, and I want to do more on the track and create history and leave a legacy behind for the young girls and boys," said Thompson-Herah.
The Jamaican athlete is one of the most top-notch sprinters and has attained several wins in her career. She is a five-time Olympic gold medalist and has won one silver medal in the 4x100m relay during the 2016 Rio Games. Along with this, she has also delivered staunch performances at the World Championships, where she has won one gold medal, four silver medals, and one bronze medal.
Adding to her accolades, she also showcased her dominance at the Diamond Leagues in the 100m, having won three gold medals for the event. Thompson-Herah recently manifested blessings for herself with the commencement of December.
