Femke Bol recently participated in a pre-race training session in Curacao with other Dutch athletes.
Bol along with other Dutch athletes, arrived in the Caribbean island to compete in the Curacao SprintFest scheduled at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curacao on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Along with Bol, the Dutch squad will include Terrence Agard, Nick Smidt, Britt De Blaauw, Andrea Bouma, Lisanne de Witte, Myrte van der Schoot, Eveline Saalberg, Cathelijn Peeters, Lieke Klaver, and Nout Wardenburg.
The Curacao SprintFest will witness the Netherlands squad faceoff with Belgium, Switzerland, and Ukraine's athletics squad to compete in multiple events, including the 4x100m, 400m, 300m, 150m, 100m, and top 8 local youth races.
With only a day left for the SprintFest, the Dutch athletes stepped on the Ergilio Hato Stadium for a final practice before the showdown.
The Curacao SprintFest is organized to assist the athletes in getting used to the Caribbean weather before the 2024 World Athletics Relays slated for May 4 and 5 at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, a qualifying event for the national squads to book their tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Other notable athletes competing on the weekend include Churandy Martina, Liemarvin Bonevacia, and Hensley Paulina.
Femke Bol's stunning performances in relays that contributed to the Dutch squad's victory
Femke Bol has built her prospects as a valuable athlete in the relay events after showcasing her athletic proficiency at multiple events.
At the 2023 World Athletics Championships, she competed in the mixed 4x400m relay race, where the Dutch athlete was leading the lineup until the last few meters of the race, when she tripped and came down crashing to the ground, resulting a loss of medal for the squad.
Nevertheless, she competed in the women's 4x400m relay along with Eveline Saalberg, Lieke Klaver, and Cathelijn Peeters. The Dutch squad secured a gold medal with Bol leading the squad to the top position on the podium, clocking a time of 3:20.72.
Femke Bol's most recent victory in the relays was achieved during the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Champiosnhips in Glasgow in the women's 4x400m relay along with Lieke Klaver, Cathelijn Peeters, and Lisanne de Witte. The squad secured the top position after registering a time of 3:25.07.
