Former Nebraska Cornhuskers women's volleyball player Merritt Beason was recently spotted in her practice sessions with Atlanta Vibe as she steps into her professional career after a successful collegiate stint.
In her four college years in Florida and Nebraska, Beason produced some impressive performances. She scored 1359 kills during this time and inflicted a total of 771 digs. Notably, she also won two consecutive SEC Championships with the Huskers and was also a part of the team that reached the NCAA finals last year.
Following these successes, Beason was picked in the first round of the PVF draft last month and has started her training for the new season. In a recent Instagram post shared by Atlanta Vibe's Instagram handle, she could be seen practicing with her new teammates. Notably, her University of Florida teammate Marlie Monserez was also seen with her during these sessions.
"Oh hey 👋👋 @merbson," it wrote in the caption.

Merritt Beason shed light on her thought process after being picked by Atlanta Vibe
Merritt Beason recently expressed her thoughts on joining the Atlanta Vibe after finishing her collegiate career. This came just a month ago after the Pro Volleyball Federation draft.
Beason shared her excitement while speaking in an interview about being able to stay close to her friends and family after signing with Atlanta Vibe. Additionally, she also mentioned reuniting with her former teammate, Marlie Monserez, and former Husker, Kayla Banworth who is the current head coach of the side.
"I am super excited to be going to Atlanta obviously, it's close to home for me and so I'll be able to see my family and friends a little bit more and then also my freshman year setter Marlie Monserez. So I am super excited to just be playing with her again and Kayla (Banwarth) obviously played here and coached here. So I am super excited to have a Husker as my coach and be able to learn from her," Merritt Beason said (via the Atlanta Vibe YouTube channel 00:28 onwards).
During the interview, Beason also expressed her happiness in being able to stay in the United States after her collegiate career and playing in the PVF.
