Norwegian track athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen was recently spotted in altitude training in the Sierra Nevada ahead of the 2025 season. He started his routine practice session a few weeks ago.

Ingebrigtsen's 2024 season ended in September with the Copenhagen Half Marathon. However, the two-time Olympic gold medalist has wasted little time and has indulged himself in specialized altitude training sessions to enhance his performance for the next year. The upcoming season will be an important one for him as it holds the World Athletics Championships where he will step up for his 5000m title defense.

Ingebrigtsen took to her Instagram handle to share glimpses of his altitude training. During his drills, he was also accompanied by his older brother, Henrik, and Norwegian athletes, Magnus Myhre and Fredrik Sandvik. Ingebrigtsen said in his caption:

"After a couple of weeks with good training in Sandnes, we traveled to Sierra Nevada for some altitude training. 1 week done, 3 to go. "

Jakob Ingebrigtsen concluded his year with numerous laurels. He clinched an Olympic gold medal in the 5000m event and also won the 1500m Diamond League title in Brussels. The Norwegian also won two gold medals over the 1500m and 5000m distances at the European Championships.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen opened up about his possibility of breaking world records. This came just a month ago before the 2024 Diamond League finals.

In an interview with Olympics.com, Ingebrigtsen said that he can break many of the current world records when he is in his best form. The 24-year-old also mentioned that producing such performances is not easy. He said:

"I think it's possible to break every record. All the different records are beatable. But you can't just wake up and jump in a race and break a world record. I think at my best, and if I'm able to get a chance in many different events, I think I have a good shot of beating many of them."

The Norwegian is the current world record holder over the 3000m distance with a run time of 7:17.55. He clocked this time at the Silesia Diamond League in August.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is also the fourth fastest in the Men's 1500m event. He boasts a run time of 3:26.73 that he set this year at the Monaco Diamond League.
