Jordan Chiles marked her return to her alma mater, UCLA, to continue her collegiate career. Months after her Paris Olympic success, Chiles is gearing up for the upcoming season with the UCLA Bruins.
Chiles won the team gold alongside Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Though she also won bronze on the floor after a score change, the CAS ordered her to return her medal after the Romanian Gymnastics Federation's appeal. The 22-year-old next set off on the Gold Over America tour, which concluded its 30-city feat on November 3, 2024.
On December 12, the Big Ten Championships took to its X handle to announce Chiles' return to the Bruins for the upcoming season. The video featured the two-time Olympic champion posing in a blue crystal-studded leotard with 'UCLA' written at the extreme lower end of the outfit and 'BIG' on the back.
The caption read:
"That girl is back. Jordan Chiles returns to @uclagymnastics."
Recently, UCLA's official Instagram handle posted a picture series of Chiles embracing the spirit of Bruins in blue, changing poses in a photoshoot, and engaging in an off-mat interview.
"@jordanchiles is back in Bruin Blue!" the post caption read.
The Olympian shared the post in her Instagram story and updated her fans about her major location shift from Houston to Los Angeles.
"H-Town- To -LA City," she wrote.
Chiles amassed three podiums at the 2023 NCAA Championships, two golds in the uneven bars and floor exercise, and a silver in the all-around. She earned a perfect ten on the bars and 9.875 on the floor to help her team record a postseason program record of 49.7125.
Jordan Chiles shared the intention behind writing her memoir 'I'm That Girl: Living The Power Of My Dreams'
In November, the World medalist announced the release of her memoir, 'I'm That Girl: Living The Power Of My Dreams' in March 2025. Speaking with USA Today in a recent interview, Jordan Chiles revealed she always planned to write a memoir that would stand as a testament to her 'crazy' life.
"This memoir was something that I've always wanted to do ever since I was little I told my parents one day I wanna write a book about my story and I only wanted to do that because life from the very beginning of being a little kid was already crazy," she shared. [3:40 onwards]
She then called herself a 'miracle child' and went on to say:
"I'm a miracle child, I'm a rainbow baby, there's already a lot of things. I'm named after Michael Jordan so those stories are things that I felt like you know people should actually read coming from the person and I think it's just gonna be very impactful.
Jordan Chiles was also part of the Tokyo Olympics, winning silver in the team competition.
