Kenny Bednarek recently went on vacation with his girlfriend, Sharmila Nicollet, to Bali and has shared a glimpse of his time there. He concluded his 2024 season after competing in the 200m dash at the Brussels Diamond League Finals.

Bednarek also had an eventful run at the Paris Olympics, where he competed in the 200m finals and finished in second place with a time of 19.62s. He was defeated by Letsile Tebogo, who claimed first place with a time of 19.46s, while Noah Lyles attained third place with a time of 19.70s.

Along with this, Bednarek also competed in the 100m dash; however, he could not achieve a podium finish and finished the race in seventh place. Following this, he appeared in a series of Diamond Leagues and proved his dominance during his last event of the year, the Brussels Diamond League, where he trounced the Olympic champion, Tebogo, in the 200m.

Weeks after wrapping up his season in a notable manner, Kenny Bednarek is currently on his off-season and is having the time of his life in Bali with Nicollet. He shared a bunch of pictures on Instagram, giving a sneak peek into his picturesque outing.

Kenny Bednarek opened up about receiving support from his girlfriend

Kenny Bednarek appeared in an online interview with The Running Effect podcast on August 21, 2024, where he spoke about receiving immense support from his girlfriend, Sharmila Nicollet. He revealed that she was one of the reasons behind his success and emphasized that she understands the struggles of an athlete since she herself is a golf player.

“I think the biggest thing for me is just the people that have been around me. If I would say for real, if I didn't meet my girlfriend in 2020, I think that's when COVID started coming up, if I didn't meet her, I think we wouldn't be having this conversation. I don't think I would be who I am today,” Kenny Bednarek said.

He added:

“I mean, she is the biggest reason why I have been so successful, just because she's a professional athlete as well. She's a professional golfer and she knows what it takes because she's been on that level. “And meeting her, it was kind of like, hey, I want to be an Olympian. And then she laughed at my face saying, well, you gotta step it up."

He further expressed gratitude for her support and said:

“I don't think there would be a Kung Fu Kenny, just because she's, I would say 80, 90% of the reason why I'm the professional athlete I am today. So I give a lot of my success to her. And I thank her for, I mean, even now, she's helped me out with a lot of things. So without her, a lot of things wouldn't have worked.”

Kenny Bednarek met Sharmila Nicollet in 2020, who is a professional golf player and has 11 career wins to her name.
