Michael Phelps is busy spending time with his family again after appearing at the US Olympic Swimming Trials. He recently shared some glimpses showcasing the quality time he has been getting to enjoy with his wife, Nicole and their four children.

Michael Phelps retired after the 2016 Rio Olympics following a remarkable career. He has accomplished the title of being the most decorated swimmer of all time, winning 28 Olympic medals through the course of his campaigns.

The former American swimmer and his wife have four children of whom the newborn Nico was welcomed in January this year, and regularly share the family's special moments on social media. The Olympian posted a bunch of such pictures on his Instagram page today which show the family's fun times presumably after his return from the Trials.

The first picture is of Michael posing with his sons Bommer and Beckett. Another picture has all four kids, donning wristbands and headbands in the colors of the US flag. Several other pictures are included, all with his sons enjoying an outing with their parents.

The post's caption reads:

"Life as of late...😍😍"

Notably, Michael Phelps has said that fatherhood is a special feeling for him but he does not want to have a new addition in his household anytime soon.

Michael Phelps opens up about having a fifth child

Phelps has a home with four boys - Boomer, Beckett, Maverick and Nico. He does not want to have a fifth child. However, Nicole Phelps had a different perspective.

In a conversation with E! News, Phelps revealed his and his wife's takes on a fifth child.

"Oh, I think that's it. Nicole will tell you too. I think she said she wanted a girl for me, but we have Onyx. Onyx is our girl, so we got four boys, we got an awesome girl now."

The entire Phelps household is comprised of dog lovers. The family already had two dogs, Juno and Legend when in 2023 they became pet parents once again after welcoming their newest one, Onyx.

Michael Phelps shared a Christmas post on his Instagram page with his family and wrote:

"Merry Christmas!! Welcome Onyx!! (Onyx is our new *dog emoji*)"

Apart from goofy times with his kids and their pets, Phelps is also very considerate about the physical and mental well-being of his sons. He has emphasized how he taught them the importance of mental health at a very young age.

Along with his notable achievements, the swimming legend faced mental health issues several times in his life, which is why he says he feels the need to also make his children learn how to process their feelings when they are hurt.
