Noah Lyles is usually the fastest man when he takes to the track, but he has a habit of amazing fans outside of sprinting as well. Most recently, the American showed up dressed in Adidas and Balenciaga in the athlete walk-in at U.S Olympic Track and Field Trials, leaving audiences in awe of his fit.
The athlete walk-in is a brain child of Lyles, and yet another way he intends to revive the dying popularity of track and field. The idea for this came to the sprinter in 2022, inspiration courtesy of a GQ magazine post on social media which highlighted some of the best outfits worn by professional athletes as they walked into stadiums.
The reigning World Champion first introduced the athlete walk-in at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston in February, 2023, and has since become a staple at most events he participates in. The U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials have already seen the sprinter arrive in style alongside rap sensation Snoop Dogg, and his latest fit is equally impressive.
Arriving at the Hayward Field on Friday, June 28, Noah Lyles showed up in a Adidas and Balenciaga red tshirt, alongside black pants. He accessoriesed his outfit with a silver chain, black goggles, and a watch. He was also seen sporting white nails.
Noah Lyles also used this opportunity at the athlete walk-in to highlight his energy drink sponsor Celsius. The American had partnered with the brand in March of 2024 as they looked for a representative in the Olympic space.
“To be honest, I'm an energetic guy. So it only makes sense that I partner up with Celsius. And I mean, they said that they wanted to get into the Olympic space. And they wanted to get into track and field. And they felt that they needed the world's fastest man. And that's my title, the world's fastest man,” Lyles said of his partnership with the brand when talking to Yahoo.
“So again, if they want to get into it and they want to get into it hard, if we align with the same goals, I feel that it's a beautiful partnership. We have that idea of wanting to chase dreams, reach for the stars. And I mean, come on. Everybody wants to be the world's fastest man!”
Noah Lyles at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials
While Noah Lyles continues to be his outlandish self off the track, his performances on it only seem to be getting better. His campaign at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials so far has seen him confirm his berth in the 100m team, winning the finals with a 9.83, matching his personal best in the event.
Meanwhile, he's continued his three-year long unbeaten streak in the 200m, winning his heat with a time of 20.10. The time was also the fastest of the opening rounds in the distance, with Erriyon Knighton and Courtney Lindsey of heat 4 and 8 clocking 20.15 and 20.28 for second and third respectively.
Noah Lyles will be back on track on Friday, June 28 for his semifinals in the distance. Fans can watch him live on NBC, NBC's Peacock, or the USA Network.
