Olivia Dunne weighs in on teammate Kailin Chio’s performance and honors Haleigh Bryant following LSU’s 2025 season opener
Following Kailin Chio’s stunning 39.575 debut, the highest all-around score by a freshman in school history, Olivia Dunne was asked about Chio’s importance in Haleigh Bryant’s absence during the season opener’s post-match press conference. To which, she responded (5:26 onwards):
“Kailin Chio is incredible. I think that she came in with such a great mindset and she competes like a vet."
About the reigning NCAA all-around champion missing out on the season opener due to injury, Dunne said:
“I think with Haley being out, the best thing we can do is honor her with our actions because she's honored us for all these years and she's competed so well for LSU. So, I think if we just go out there and honor her and do our best then it'll be great.”
Bryant sustained a UCL strain during the LSU Gymnastics 101 exhibition meet due to making contact with the vault table.
