Olivia Dunne’s boyfriend Paul Skenes has ended his rookie season in the MLB, and the gymnast came up with a unique way to celebrate the milestone. She donned a pair of Pittsburgh Pirates shoes which read Skenes in bold print, and was there in the stadium to cheer for her partner.
Dunne and Skenes have been together since they were both student-athletes at Louisiana State University. The two have claimed national championships for the Tigers in their respective sport, and while the gymnast has decided to return for the 2025 season, her boyfriend turned pro this year.
While managing a busy schedule of her own, Olivia Dunne has made multiple appearances on the baseball field to cheer for Skenes. On Saturday, September 28, the Pittsburgh Pirate was in action for his last game of the season, and Dunne showed up in white knee-high boots that referenced both her partner and his team. She completed the look with a black top and a pair of black denim shorts.
Olivia Dunne on managing her busy schedule to watch Paul. Skenes live
Olivia Dunne leads a busy life as a gymnast for most of the year as part of the LSU Tigers, and for the rest of her time, she's focused on her entrepreneurial activities. As the NIL’s highest-paid female athlete, Dunne often has her hands full, and in May, she opened up to People Magazine about balancing work, time off, and traveling to see her boyfriend live in stadiums.
"During my season, a bunch of work obligations, I push them aside to the summer because I'm just so busy during the season and then it kind of starts to pile up during my summers. So right now I'm starting to get to the point where it's piling up a bit, but I'm going to balance it all and I'm going to make everything work between going and seeing Paul, working and relaxing.”
While both Dunne and Skenes are often tied up in their schedules as athletes, their sporting personalities help them relate to each other. In the same interview, the gymnast revealed that her boyfriend was the first person she called after LSU won the NCAA, saying,
"I just wanted to fill him in on what just happened because I know he just won a national championship at LSU. He understands all the feelings so I just wanted to call him and just tell him what it was like."
After winning the 2024 NCAA team championships, Olivia Dunne will be returning to LSU for one last season in 2025. Meanwhile, Paul Skenes will continue competing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the MLB, and fans will likely get to see the couple cheering for each other throughout the year.
