LSU coach Jay Clerk explains the reason for Olivia Dunne featuring in just one apparatus against Florida
LSU head coach Jay Clerk shared why senior gymnast Olivia Dunne competed in only one event against Florida Gators.
"It was just precautionary, she is just irritated and she does a lot of leaps and she is flexible and she does a ring and a lot of things, so, she's got her kneecap," the head coach said in the press conference after the meet (23:14 onwards).
"It's gotten a little bit irritated on the bottom of the kneecap. We have had it looked and there's really nothing there structurally. It's just uncomfortable for her and so we're just trying to get it calmed down."
Dunne previously competed in three events during the Sprouts Collegiate quad meet last week.
A University of Georgia graduate, Jay Clark is in his fifth year as the head coach of the LSU Gymnastics program.
