In Pictures: Olympian and Influencer Alica Ѕchmidt shares glimpses of Maldives vacation as she attends a charity run in the island

Alica Schmidt, the track athlete and social media influencer from Germany, participated in a charity event and took a vacation to Maldives during the off-season. The 25-year-old was selected to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics as a member of the German 4x400m mixed relay squad.

Schmidt, the 4x400m relay silver medalist at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships, was also part of the German relay squad at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but didn't get to compete. She also traveled to the Paris Games as a member of the mixed 4x400m relay team but failed to advance to the finals.

Schmidt reportedly gained a substantial amount of social media followers after the Tokyo Olympics. On October 6, she shared some vacation pictures from the Maldives donning a flowy blue gown, keeping the turquoise green sea and cloudy sky in the background.

The German athlete also took part in a charity event at the St. Regis Maldives Vammuli. She posted a video of a marathon race with the caption:

In another of her stories, she posed by the Maldivian sea in a crochet bikini top and white skirt, which complemented the overcast sky in the backdrop.

The German athlete had alerted fans about her four-week-long vacation content on September 13, 2024. She posed in a brown dress against the railing with the dusky sky accessorizing her look.

"Off season has started get ready for 4 weeks of vacation content #vacation #offseason"

Schmidt has also served as a fitness coach for the football club Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund, besides training for track.

Following the Paris Olympic campaign, Alica Schmidt reflected on her second Olympics appearance and claimed that she wanted to participate at the Games not just to win medals but also to be inspired by other athletes and celebrate diversity. On August 14, via her Instagram handle, Schmidt wrote:

"The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from."

Schmidt was part of the 4x400m relay team that won bronze at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships.
