Jade Carey on starting her fourth year at Oregon State
In an interview with the Oregon State Beavers, Jade Carey spoke about her decision to get back to Oregon after competing at the Paris Olympics. She said that she wanted to "enjoy" college and that it wasn't hard for her to make the decision. Carey also said that she was a little skeptical about whether her body would be able to do gymnastics.
"I just feel like I haven’t had any normal year in college at all. Now that the Olympics are over, I kind of want to take this next year to just enjoy the true college experience,” Jade Carey said (as quoted by OregonLive.com).
She added:
“It wasn’t that hard for me to decide, because I love it here, and I love being part of a team. It was kind of juggling in my mind, if my mind and my body were still going to be able to do gymnastics. I definitely think it’s something I’m going to be able to do.”
She also stated her intention to make the nationals:
"I definitely want to make it to nationals as a team. That’s one of my biggest goals.”
Jade Carey completed her freshman year during the pandemic and now has two years of college left.
