Weighing in on his university options, the youngest track and field Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson recently visited the University of Tennessee. But he also made it clear that he has not yet committed to the facility's athletics program.
The 16-year-old made history at the Paris Olympics, becoming the youngest American men's track runner in the competition's 128-year history. He got the opportunity to open in the preliminary heat of the men's 4x400m relay, where he recorded a split time of 47.27 seconds and handed the baton to Vernon Norwood in seventh place.
Team USA managed to qualify for the final after finishing in third place. In the final, the American team claimed the gold medal with a new Olympic record time of 2:54.43. Despite not running in the final, Wilson was awarded a gold medal as part of the US side.
Following his Paris Olympics exploits, Quincy Wilson, the Maryland Bullis School runner, started to look for university options to take the next step in his career. As part of this, he paid a visit to the University of Georgia on Wednesday, October 16. In a recent turn of events, the Virginia native also shared pictures on his Instagram from his official visit to the University of Tennessee. He was seen sporting the orange Tennessee Volunteers kit. But Wilson made it clear in the caption of the pictures that he has not yet committed to the university's track and field program.

Quincy Wilson was filled with gratitude for the opportunity to run on the Olympic stage in Paris. Although he noted that he did not run his best, but it was a dream come true for him.
"This was a dream come true. I didn’t run my best, but I knew I had a great team on my hands. I wasn’t nervous, I was 100% myself." (via Olympics.com)
Discussing his future aspirations with NBC4 Washington, he said that he aims to compete in the next five Olympic Games.
"Hopefully, I'll be able to go five Olympics in total." (As quoted by Athlon Sports).
In addition to his Olympic achievements, Quincy Wilson also holds the under-18 world best time for the 400m, both indoors and outdoors.
