Rebeca Andrade shared pictures of her in a slate black bikini from her off-season vacation in Bahia, Brazil. The Olympic gold medalist came fresh off her Paris Olympic exploits and another off-season vacation in Italy.
Andrade, the all-around silver medalist at the 2023 World Championships, took the Olympic stage for the second time in Paris, winning gold in the floor exercise, silver in the vault and all-around, and bronze in the team competition. After winning the gold medal, she received a unique honor when her fellow podium finishers, Biles and Jordan Chiles, bowed to her with their arms stretched.
Fresh off the Olympic Games, Andrade attended the first NFL game in South America as the Philadelphia Eagles went head-on with the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo. The 25-year-old watched the game with Paris medalists Beatriz Souza, Rayssa Leal, and Duda Lisboa as the Eagles edged out the Packers 34-29.
She then modeled for Vogue and took a trip to Italy, posing in a pastel pink tennis mini-skirt fit and engaging in fun times with her friends. She also sported a bespectacled look and danced to Bobby Valentino’s “Slow Down” in the hotel room.
On October 27, 2024, Rebeca Andrade posted a carousel of bikini pictures from her Brazilian vacation in Bahia, posing on an ATV and even showing off gymnastic moves.
"Ouch... Bahia, you have my heart!" her caption read.
Andrade became the first Brazilian female gymnast to medal at the Olympics and the second woman from Brazil to clinch gold at the World Artistic Championships. She won medals in every gymnastic event and etched her name among the only 11 gymnasts, who achieved such success in World Championships history.
Rebeca Andrade expressed pride to compete against the greatest gymnast Simone Biles
Having won the all-around silver at the Paris Olympics, Andrade hinted at ending her participation in the all-around in further events, since her body hurt. However, she was pleased to have kept Simone Biles on her toes on the Olympic stage, calling her 'a phenomenon'.
"Knowing that I gave Simone a bit of work is cool, right? She’s the best in the world, Simone is a phenomenon. We didn’t see it just here, but also in many competitions that she has done. I’m so proud of being able to compete by her side," Andrade said. (via Olympics.com) (August 2, 2024)
Simone Biles, in the fourth episode of her eponymous docuseries, acknowledged how much of a threat her Brazilian counterpart was at the Olympics, especially in the vault.
"Once she stuck that, I was like, ‘Oh, you gotta be kidding me.’ [Simone] Once she stuck that, I was like, ‘Oh, you gotta be kidding me.’ She’s not human. People think I’m not human. She’s not human."
Rebeca Andrade was the first to compete in the equipment, earning 15.1. Biles surpassed the score after sticking the Yurchenko Double Pike and collecting 15.766.
