Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens is back to business. The NFL safetyman for the Chicago Bears, who was recently in Paris to cheer his wife during the 2024 Paris Olympics, recently posted some pictures from his game with the Chicago Bears.
In an untitled post on his Instagram account, Owens shared glimpses of his appearance for the Chicago Bears during the NFL pre-season. The new season for NFL will officially commence on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
The first picture from Owens' series is him in action during a pre-season match. The next one shows him warming up, followed by one where Owens makes a fist pump in the air, showcasing a sense of achievement.
In the fourth picture, the NFL footballer is being congratulated by fellow player Kyler Gordon, who plays as a cornerback for the same team. The next image shows Owens receiving the ball, followed by the last one, a picture of him in the parking lot with his belongings. Interestingly, Simone Biles had also come up to the NFL arena to cheer him.
Jonathan Owens has had a turbulent journey in the NFL. He began as an undrafted free agent for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, due to injuries, he was waived off in 2019, following which he joined the Houston Texans. He played with them as a safetyman until May 2023 before joining the Green Bay Packers. However, after a short stint with the Packers, Owens signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears in 2024.
Jonathan Owens' unwavering support for Simone Biles at the Paris Olympics
Jonathan Owens has been extremely supportive of Simone Biles and her career, ever since the two wed each other in 2023.
Interestingly, the Chicago Bears granted Owens special leave from July 28 to August 3 to attend the Paris Olympics and cheer for his wife, Simone Biles.
Following is Owens' reaction after Simone Biles' performance in the individual vault finals which won her an Olympic gold medal :
Simone Biles recently detailed how committed Jonathan Owens was towards her success, including keeping scores and updates of her positions in various events! As per her conversation with TODAY portal, Simone Biles said,
"...........Obviously, he loved going to see me compete. He was still keeping score. It meant the world to him, because he's seen the amount of hours that I put in, so to actually see in person, he was like, 'Wow, this is amazing.' And he was just excited to be there."
However, that was not all. Jonathan Owens also cheered Simone Biles when she created history with a third Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the vault event. Owens took to X and wrote:
"Just another reminder that my wife is THE S***!"
Simone Biles won three gold and a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, including a gold medal in the team all around. With 11 Olympic medals overall, including seven gold, she is the most decorated American female gymnast and the second most decorated gymnast in history after Vera Caslavska of Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic].
