Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens posed for a photo series in Team USA-themed matching co-ord sets as the Olympian heads to Paris 2024. Owens shared that they don't fit the definition of "perfect" but are intensely in love with each other.
Biles struck out of the competition midway through Tokyo 2020 due to the 'twisties'. No golds were added to her career tally from that Olympiad. Fast forward to now, she is headed to her third Games with five golds in mind.
Biles put up a spectacular show at the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics Trials and punched her ticket to the Paris Olympics as the top seed. She earned an all-around score of 117.225, finishing ahead of Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles.
Jonathan Owens, Biles' husband and her strongest support, has not missed any of his wife's 2024 performances. He was present at the 2024 US Classic, the US Championships and the Olympic Trials to cheer his triple Olympian wife on.
In anticipation of the 2024 Summer Games, Owens posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, accompanying Biles in Team USA's white attire for the Paris Olympics. The couple embraced each other and posed in an all-white setting.
Owens' catching caption implied that their relationship isn't perfect but they're utterly in love.
"No we ain’t perfect, but we damn close," he wrote.
Owens paired the caption with three heart emojis colored red, blue and white to signify the national flag of the USA.
Simone Biles also posted her favorite picks from the shoot on her Instagram handle. In her caption, she called the US the 'land of dreams'.
"Land of dreams US (white heart emoji)"
Simone Biles received gifts from her husband during her monumental run
As the four-time Olympic gold medalist earned her Paris Olympics qualification, her husband showered her with gifts and made heartwarming gestures during the Trials.
These include a $46,302 diamond-encrusted Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. The Olympian, on cloud nine after receiving the present, posted a picture on her Instagram Stories with the caption:
"Baby," paired with heart-eyed emojis.
Owens surfaced with another warm gesture to express his love for Simone Biles when he tattooed the first letter of his wife's name on his left ring finger, where he wears his engagement ring. The gymnast posted a photo of his hand on her Instagram Stories, captioning it with two hearts, two 'shocked' and two 'fingers crossed' emojis.
The seven-time Olympic medalist will look to add five more golds at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She will surpass Shannon Miller to become the US gymnast with the most Olympic medals if she is successful.
