Suni Lee sported a red jacket and spectacles for a date, months before the 2025 gymnastics season kicked in. The 21-year-old competed in her second Games edition in Paris, taking bronze in the uneven bars and all-around and gold in the team competition.
Lee was diagnosed with a rare kidney issue early in 2023 and couldn't compete in major competitions last year, including the 2023 World Championships. Having ended her Auburn University collegiate career prematurely, Lee returned to elite gymnastics in 2024 and qualified for the 'redemption tour' in Paris.
After extending her Olympic medal tally to six, the Minnesota native made a fashionable appearance at the New York Fashion Week, cheered on tennis players at the US Open finals, took a trip to Tulum, and received the honor of one of Glamour's Women of the Year.
On October 24, 2024, Lee shared pictures from her 'date' day on her Instagram handle, sporting a red jacket and a pair of spectacles.
"on a date," her caption read.
Lee's Instagram story from October 21, confirmed her return to her home gym, Midwest Gymnastics Center in Little Canada, Minnesota.
"my home," her tear-filled caption read.
Lee was part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, having won the all-around gold, uneven bars bronze, and silver as part of the US women's gymnastics team. She became the first American of Asian descent to win the Olympic all-around title.
Suni Lee met the legendary Beyonce and Korean pop icon Lalisa
At the Glamour's Women of the Year award show, Beyonce and Suni Lee shared the same frame. In a video posted by Glamour's official X handle, the Minnesota native was in awe of the legendary cultural figure and struggled to speak as Beyonce embraced her at the star-studded event.
On October 15, 2024, Lee attended the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and watched K-pop icon Lalisa performing her latest song, Moonlit Floor. Following the event, she took to her Instagram to express how dreamy the week in New York City has been for her.
"this week has been a dreammmm," the Olympian captioned.
Her series of pictures featured her with hair rollers, witnessing the glamorous Victoria's Secret models closing the show, and sharing the table with Lalisa. She also posted mirror selfies and posed against a red wall with wings painted on it.
Besides collaborating with Glamour, Lee also graced the cover of Lulemon, the brand specializing in technical apparel and athletic shoes.
