Suni Lee opened up about approaching the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics
Suni Lee faced major health issues in 2023, which led to her missing out on major competitions throughout the year. The gymnast was diagnosed with a rare kidney issue that brought multiple changes in her body, such as swollen feet, hands, and body, which made her stay away from the gymnastics podium for a very long time.
She made her comeback in the Paris Olympics, and following her victorious comeback she appeared in an exclusive interview with Glamour, where she opened up about not wanting any more trials and tribulations like her health concern during the 2028 LA Olympics.
"I don’t need any more adversity. I don’t want people to feel bad for me. I just want to go into the gym and work hard,"
She added that she just wanted to focus on hard work for succeeding in the Olympics.
"I don’t think I would want there to be a huge story. I’d just want to work my butt off in the gym every single day and get everything that I deserved at the Olympics. You know? It shouldn’t be deeper than that."
Suni Lee was recently honored as one of Glamour's Women of the Year 2024. She joined other Olympic champions, such as Serena Williams and Allyson Felix.
