Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently offered a sneak peek into her brief Hawaiian escape following her being honored as the Female Track Athlete of the Year Award by World Athletics. McLaughlin-Levrone was honored with the glorious award on December 1, 2024, at Theatre Princesse Grace in Monaco, Monaco.
The American sprinter was awarded the prestigious honor, citing her remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she collected two gold medals. The 25-year-old sprinter broke her 400m hurdles world record for the sixth time to dominate at the French capital.
She posted a notable time of 50.37 seconds to surpass fellow teammate and her fiercest rival, Femke Bol, who registered 51.87 and 52.15 seconds, respectively. The American sprinter received the award after outshining the 100m Paris Olympic champion, Julien Alfred, who clocked 10.72 seconds.
Following her recent accolade and navigating a whirlwind year, McLaughlin-Levrone finally set off for a much-needed break on the Hawaiian island. She shared a glimpse of her stay at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, a beachfront resort surrounded by lush gardens with cascading waterfalls in Ka'anapali, Hawaii.
The sprinter shared a picture of the spacious bedroom and the bathroom, offering a stunning view of the blue ocean.
Although Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's recent achievement received praise from her fans, a few fans expressed their dissent toward the sprinter winning the award, citing her limited participation in the competitions throughout the year.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently expressed her uncertainty regarding the upcoming season. Highlighting Mondo Duplantis' return to training, the American sprinter stated she is unsure about the events she will be competing in the 2025 season.
"Honestly, I don't even know. Mondo is already training, I should be back home but honestly I can't even tell you, I just, the number thing is always being healthy and for our team taking it one step at a time making sure we are doing what we need to do and we make some decisions as we go and its worked so far and I'm excited to keep going."
Although McLaughlin-Levrone is unsure about her 2025 campaign, she was the first athlete signed for Michael Johnson's debut Grand Slam Track series, slated from April to June next year.
