Jordan Chiles recently highlighted her quick adaptability while preparing her new NCAA floor routine under intense time constraints. Despite limited campus training due to an extensive nationwide tour during the fall, the Olympic gold medalist finalized a performance-ready routine in three days.

Unlike her teammates, who consistently trained on campus, the Olympic champion balanced competing priorities but relied on the groundwork laid over a year earlier with her choreographer BG Das. Their long-term panning streamlined the process, though most of the routine was completed in the brief period following her return. The 2025 NCAA Women's Gymnastics season kicked off on January 3.

Reflecting on her rapid learning ability during a January 2025 interview with ESPN, she said:

"I'm a really fast learner. It was no biggie that I got my whole routine in three days."

The tight timeline extended beyond choreography, requiring the gymnast to rebuild her endurance and refine her performance to competition standards. Most of the routine was completed by the end of the first week of January 2025. After further adjustments over the holiday break, it was finalized two days before UCLA's season opener.

The gymnast is a two-time Olympian and two-time Olympic medalist, earning one gold and one silver. While she did not compete in the final team event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she secured gold as a part of Team USA. In addition, she clinched three medals at the 2022 World Championships, including one gold and two silver.

After UCLA's season opener, Jordan Chiles praised her teammate for a standout performance.

Jordan Chiles returned to the UCLA Bruins after a break following her gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marked her second collegiate competition since April 2023.

On the opening day event, the olympian scored 9.975 on the floor exercise for her dynamic routine set to a medley of Prince's songs. Her performance included a double layout and a front handspring to a double tuck, with both contributing to the high score. She also earned 9.925 on the vault and 9.850 on the uneven bars.

The gymnast also praised teammate Brooklyn Moors for her strong performance, especially her ability to compete in three events after focusing solely on floor routine for the year.

“Coming out here being a grad student, and adding events to something that you know you always want to be able to enjoy, and having this ability to dominate and do what you need to do is amazing," Chiles said (latimes.com).

Moors put in strong performances in UCLA's season opener, showcasing her versatility across multiple events. On the balance team, she competed for only the second time in three years and impressed with a front-tuck full disamount earning a solid score of 9.825. Her routine contributed to UCLA's team score of 49.050 on the beam.
