Simone Biles has expressed excitement over a reunion with her NFL player husband, Jonathan Owens, right after the Gold Over Americ tour concludes. The 27-year-old made big waves at the Paris Olympics, winning the all-around, team, and vault gold medals, as well as a silver in floor exercise.
Since tying the knot in May 2023, Biles and Owens haven't gotten to stay together much due to their respective career commitments. The former made her gymnastics return with the US Classic and lifted her sixth title at the 2023 World Championships, while her husband kicked off his NFL season with the Green Bay Packers.
Simone Biles frequented Owens' games between her gymnastics events. She even stepped out with the latter on dates and posted updates about the construction of their new Texas home. Owens has also attended Biles' gymnastic events in 2024, cheering her on at the Paris Olympics.
The two also spent quality time together at the GOAT, when it stopped at Milwaukee and Texas. In a recent conversation with the Olympics.com podcast, Biles was asked about her plans after the Gold Over America tour. In response, the 11-time Olympic medalist didn't hesitate to say she wants to go home to her husband.
"I'm really excited to go home, which will now be Chicago, and just spend time with my husband because as soon as we got married, we've been like long-distance the whole time and now I'm doing this tour. So, it's like, when are we gonna see each other?" (16:30)
On October 30, 2024, the tour stopped at KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, With just three cities left, the gymnasts will last take the stage in Detroit, Michigan on November 3, 2024.
Simone Biles revealed she wouldn't attend the Lions vs Bears matchup in November
In September 2024, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist attended the matchup between Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals while wearing a Green Bay Packers-themed outfit (Owens previous team).
Though this garnered some backlash from fans, Simone Biles rectified it and attended her husband's next game wearing a Bears jersey. In a recent conversation with Click on Detriot, the 30-time World medalist ended speculation about her appearance at the Lions vs Bears game on November 28th, confirming that she would wait at home for her husband on Thanksgiving.
"We’ll have to see since it is Thanksgiving. Usually some of the wives we stay home because they get on a flight right after that game. We’re usually back home waiting for them because if not, we don’t know when we’ll be able to get home and spend that holiday with them." (2:33)
The Bears will next go against the Arizona Cardinals on November 3, 2024.
