Gabby Thomas is ready and excited to return to the track after her victorious outing at the Paris Olympics 2024. The sprinter will compete at the Athlos track meet on Thursday, September 26, giving fans one last chance to watch her live this year.

The Athlos track meet is organized by tennis legend Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian. The event will feature six races — the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and the 100m hurdles.

Apart from Thomas, the competition will feature several other big stars such as Masai Russell, Marileidy Paulino, Faith Kipyegon, and Gudaf Tsegay.

For Gabby Thomas, this outing at the Icahn Stadium in New York City will mark the first time she competed since her gold-medal haul at the Paris Olympics. The American will close out her season after this meet and is excited to dominate her final race. The 27-year-old took to Instagram to show her enthusiasm. She wrote:

“Time to dust off the spikes, it's race week.”

The Athlos meet is a one-of-its-kind event in the world of track and field. The competition which boasts an impressive purse will feature only female athletes. The winners in all six disciplines will walk away with a whopping USD 60,000. Additionally, 10% of all revenues from ticketing, commercial sponsorship, and broadcast will be re-distributed to all the participating athletes.

With its unique approach to track, Athlos has left Gabby Thomas impressed. Speaking to the organizers, she said (via Athlos on X):

“Athlos definitely feels like an event where finally we, as female athletes, have some ownership, We have some say. We have a big part in its creation. I'm excited.”

Thomas had previously expressed her approval for the broadcast list of the event, writing on X:

“Let’s freaking go!!!! Athlos track meet. Sep 26. NYC. You can watch on YouTube, X, ESPN, and DAZN ?! Feels like the most accessible track meet ever?? Finally!!”

For Thomas, 2024 has been a year of incredible success. The Paris Olympics saw her win gold in the 200m sprint as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events, making her the only American track and field athlete to return home with three golds. The sprinter will now look to end her season on a high at the Athlos track meet.
