Jade Carey recently appealed to Beavers fans to sign a petition for student tickets for home events at Oregon State University. Carey returned to Oregon State to compete for her senior season in the NCAA circuit following a successful campaign at the Paris Games.
Carey's appeal came in response to the amends made in the students' fees this year, with the athletics ticket fee now included under ASOSU (Associated Students of Oregon State University). While students pay an annual fee for tickets to home events, the campus committee recently reviewed ticket usage.
While appreciating the support the squads receive, Carey voiced that student tickets be kept available for athletic events as students are key to making big events special.
"Beaver students! We love and appreciate your support more than you know," Carey wrote.
Sharing a link on her Instagram story, the Olympian added:
"Please consider signing this petition in order to keep student tickets."
Jade Carey last competed for the Beavers in a clash against San Jose State University on Friday, January 17, 2025, held at the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon. She performed on all the apparatus, collecting 39.800 points in all-around.
The Oregon State bested San Jose State University after leading the faceoff with a significant lead of 197.600 points over 192.850 points.
Jade Carey enjoyed a victorious streak at the Paris Games despite falling ill ahead of the podium training session
Jade Carey bagged two medals, including a gold and a bronze, at the 2024 Paris Games despite not keeping well during the women's podium training session.
She complained of not being able to eat well, throwing up the whole week, and feeling fatigued ahead of the competition. However, the American gymnast went on to compete in the vault event gathering 14.800 points.
Her contribution led the team, including Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and Hezly Rivera, to win a gold medal by defeating the Italian and Brazilian squads. The 24-year-old further went on to bag a bronze medal in the vault event. She followed the legendary gymnast and her teammate Biles and the Brazilian star gymnast Rebeca Andrade.
While Biles and Andrade collected 15.300 and 14.966 points, Carey posted 14.466 points. She will be next seen competing on January 24, 2025, in a faceoff against Auburn Gymnastics.
