Jade Carey has reacted to being reunited with Jordan Chiles ahead of their 2025 NCAA Gymnastics season opener. They will compete in the American Gold Collegiate Gymnastics Classic, where UCLA, Oregon State Beavers, and California are set to clash.
The meet is slated for January 4, 2025, at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California, at 12:30 PM Pacific Time (PT). Ahead of the event, the two-time Olympic medalists reunited after their appearance at the Simone Biles-led Gold Over America Tour. Oregon State Gymnastics shared the picture of the reunion of the gymnasts on its Instagram handle.
Before the tour, Carey and Chiles featured at the 2024 Paris Olympics, also their second Summer Olympics appearance. Both the athletes played an instrumental role in the USA’s gold medal in the women’s all-around team at the quadrennial games. Meanwhile, Carey also earned an individual bronze in the vault event.
Carey took to her Instagram stories to share this image of hers and Jordan Chiles as she captioned it:
“Starting the meet season where we started the @goldoveramericatour 🫶✨”
Taking place from September 16 to November 3, the Gold Over America Tour featured many Olympic star athletes who performed at various arenas across different states and cities in the USA, inspiring the younger generation with their exceptional gymnastics skills. Coincidentally, the remarkable journey also began at the Frontwave Arena.
“Jade Carey is a boss”- When Jordan Chiles praised Olympic teammate during a collegiate gymnastics meet in 2022
Jordan Chiles once praised her Tokyo Olympics teammate Jade Carey during a collegiate gymnastics meeting between UCLA and Oregon State in January 2022. Following the meet hosted by Oregon State, Jordan Chiles was asked about cheering just as passionately for Carey during the event, despite being on rival college teams. To this, Chiles responded via Pac-12 Network (starting at 0:21):
“She's done such an amazing job ever since the day I first met her she's been out there shining and you know that's what she did today and she did what she did. So, I needed to go out there and support her in that way like I did in Tokyo because she is a boss.”
Both Carey and Chiles joined the Oregon State University and University of California, Los Angeles, beginning in 2022, despite signing the National Letter of Intent in November 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Their collegiate careers began about a few months later following their medal-winning performances at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Carey won a gold medal in the floor exercise, while Jordan earned a silver medal in the women’s all-around team event.
