Joscelyn Roberson opens up on her self-motivation routine during 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials
Following the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials, Joscelyn Roberson reflected on her self-motivation routine. In a one-on-one interaction with Pig Trail Nation, she shared the motivational thoughts that she used to stay focused during the trials.
“I feel like it kind of stayed the same throughout everything. At first, it was just like, go hit your routines. So, after day one, my goal the whole week wasn't to focus on making the team. If I did what I knew how to do, that was going to come, I felt like," Joscelyn Roberson said.
She added:
“So, my goal throughout the week was to hit eight routines as best as I could. And then, my motto throughout the week that helped me stay was not too hopeful and get too nervous about it. It was, ‘Expect nothing, but be grateful for everything.’ So, that really helped me a lot just to get through and hit those routines.”
Joscelyn Roberson further discussed in the interview how after completing each routine, she felt a bit of her pressure being relieved by comparing the moment to a weight being lifted off her shoulders.
